OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Little Apples Academy aims to provide the highest standard of care for all the children in our setting, from pre-Montessori through to afterschool. We strive to provide the best possible experience for all our Little Apples.
Here at Little Apples Academy we are passionate about providing a rich, loving and supportive environment for your child to learn, grow and discover at their own pace throughout their time with us.
Through nurturing and developing the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of the child, Little Apples Academy encourages the child to becoming their greatest and most fulfilled self.
FOOD & NUTRITION
We are very conscious of providing a balanced and nutritious meal for all the children in our care. Little Dinners provide a hot meal for our children each day. Please look up their website for an example of their monthly menu.
Parents are asked to provide a healthy snack for the children each day. Little Apples Academy serves Breakfast and the hot dinner.
CURRICULUM
Here at Little Apples Academy we follow the Montessori method of education, which is based on self-directed activities, hands–on learning, and collaborative play.
‘The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his own experiences.’ – Maria Montessori. Through the Montessori method, children become self-confident, resilient, problem-solvers, mannerly, kind and curious about the world around them.
Our weekly themes are designed around the children’s interests.
Our early years education programme, our themes and the Montessori method are underpinned by the Aistear National Curriculum Framework. This framework sets out specific aims and learning goals for pre-school education in Ireland. The word Aistear means journey in Irish; it is there to support the child’s journey through the early years education process.

LITTLE APPLES ACADEMY
WHO WE ARE
Clodagh Collins and Gemma Holohan
Directors of Little Apples Academy Childcare & Montessori
Little Apples Academy is owned by Clodagh and Gemma who have dedicated over 10 years to working with children, studying and learning the trade. Clodagh was the owner of Apple House Childcare, a hugely successful afterschool facility in Blackrock that ran for 10 years before she closed it to team up with Gemma. Gemma owned Little Gems Montessori and Childcare, also in Blackrock. It ran successfully for 6 years before it too closed. Clodagh and Gemma combined their considerable resources and experience and created Little Apples Academy in the heart of Blackrock village.
Working alongside us we have two incredible managers, Maria and Sara, who have great experience in childcare. They bring so much to Little Apples and are the foundation of our creche. All our little ones love them and the fun they bring to the building.
All our team members are fantastic, highly trained and well educated in early years education. They have all been Garda Siochana vetted, given First Aid training, manual handling, Children First Training, HACCP and fire safety training. Lastly, we have three afterschool rooms which run on a 12:1 ratio.
